When I was an elementary librarian, I celebrated World Read Aloud Day every year by Skyping and connecting with other elementary classes all over the country! As a high school librarian, I had not participated the last three years, and I missed it. I thought it would be fun to connect my high school kids with younger students, so I scheduled some connections during WRAD week 2019.
My high school students absolutely loved it! They answered all the questions of the elementary age kids, asked them questions, and read to them. It was a wonderful experience seeing teenagers enjoying a virtual experience that I orchestrated to celebrate reading and connect with children all over the country! See pics and video below of our students sharing this experience with others. #reedylibrary #reedypride
