This week the AP Lit classes came to the library to work with fables curated from books from around the district. As the classes prepare to read Franz Kafka’s Metamorphosis, we prepared 12 Fables from various cultures on large posters throughout the library. Students discussed the cultural context and the moral of each fable in small groups. Students also read a short bio of Franz Kafka and an brief explanation of The Metamorphosis to connect elements of the fables to the reading they are about to explore. After they read and discussed, they wrote their own fables and identified a moral of their fable. They recorded themselves reading the fables in Canvas without identifying their moral, and then worked to identify the morals of their classmates fables.
