In the Reedy Library, we are celebrating National Black History Month, during the month of February. This is a time for all Americans to celebrate the achievements and contributions of African American people and recognize their central role in American history. Black History Month was created by historian Carter G. Woodson and was officially recognized by President Gerald Ford in 1976.
You can learn more about many Black Americans throughout history with these slides created by Mr. Pride at Pearson Middle School or explore some games and other content curated here by Ms. Grant also from Pearson Middle School.
Come into the library and check out one of the books we have on display or go to this MackinVia Group to find nonfiction books about African American people and fiction books written by Black authors.
